Dr. Nadler runs an active experimental research lab in the Fall, Spring, and Summer and is always looking for talented and motivated students to work as research assistants (Psyc 491). Dr. Nadler’s research mainly focuses on the psychological impact of stereotypes in biased work place decision making (selection, promotion, performance appraisals, and compensation). Although the majority of Dr. Nadler’s studies focus on gender stereotypes, he has also researched sexual harassment, diversity training, stereotype threat, and sexual orientation.

Jenna Callantine
Jenna Callantine is currently a junior at SIUE. She plans to graduate in the spring of 2023 with a bachelors degree with a major in psychology and a minor in French. She plans on pursuing her education further at a Clinical Psychology PhD program and wants to work with mental/behavioral disorders at an institution or private practice counseling. Outside of education she enjoys reading, hanging out with her family, and traveling.

Arabella Martychenko
Arabella Martychenko is a senior at SIUE. She is majoring in Psychology with a minor in Literature. She is planning on graduating in December 2022. After graduating, she plans to attend graduate school to study school psychology. She is interested in the social and behavioral aspects psychology. She looks forward to interacting with students in her career to help them find effective ways to tackle different problems that may arise in their lives. Arabella's non-academic interests include reading, walking her dogs, hiking, and kayaking.

Lizzy Welter
Elizabeth (Lizzy) Welter is a junior at SIUE, majoring in Psychology with a minor in sociology. She is focusing on research with neurology, behavioral and clinical psychology. She plans on graduating in May of 2023, afterwards going on to obtain a Ph.D. Once she finishes school she plans on continuing research about mental and behavioral disorders especially with respects to minority groups. Outside of school, Lizzy enjoys reading, role-playing, and spend time with her family.

James Woodcock
James Woodcock is a senior at SIUE. He is a Psychology major with a minor in creative writing. He has a focus on clinical psychology and plans on graduating in December 2022. He is planning on getting a master's degree in clinical psychology. His interests include counseling, communication, and community orientation. Once he finishes school, he plans to work as a licensed professional counselor and work for an outpatient clinic and possibly run or work at a private practice in the future.

Kelly Cruise
Kelly Cruise is a junior at SIUE, majoring in Psychology and Business Administration: Economics. She has an interest in Behavioral Economics as a whole, and her research interests include risk aversion, framing effect, and ratio bias. Upon graduation, she plans to attend graduate school for behavioral economics with the ultimate goal of continuing research about why people make certain decisions and how to help them make better decisions. Outside of school, Kelly enjoys teaching exercise classes, playing basketball, and reading.

Tyler Gorbett
Tyler Gorbett is currently a junior at SIUE. He is expected to graduate in May 2022 with a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and a minor in Applied Communications. After graduation he plans to enter the workforce to gain a practical understanding of the field of I/O psychology and different areas of research, and then pursue a Master’s degree. Outside of education Tyler enjoys video games, going for runs, and listening to audiobooks.

Melissa Henry
Melissa Henry is currently in her third year as an undergraduate student at SIUE. She is expecting to graduate in May 2023 with a bachelor's degree in Psychology and a double minor in Statistics and Computer Science. She eventually plans on receiving a master’s degree in Human Factors Psychology. Melissa has always had a strong passion and respect for psychology as a science. She plans on dedicating most of her life to fulfilling her quest for knowledge through an academic pursuit and working towards improving systems/products to make everyday life more manageable. Outside of her life in academia, she enjoys biking, going for walks, playing games, and spending time with family and friends.

Marcus Washington
Marcus Washington is a senior at SIUE who is expected to graduate in May 2021. He is majoring in Psychology and focusing his minor on Economics and Business Administration. After graduation he plans on pursuing a master’s degree in Industrial/Organizational Psychology. His research interests include worker satisfaction, work-related stress, stress management, recruitment, and employee retention. Once he is finished with school, he hopes to help businesses and organizations across the globe improve their employees’ workplace satisfaction. On his off time, he enjoys traveling and getting out to explore natural and historical sites.

Steve Baumgartner
Steve is from St. Louis, Missouri and is currently pursuing his Master’s degree in Industrial and Organizational Psychology at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville. He is interested in applying psychology to the workplace in a practical and meaningful way. He is primarily interested in how health and wellness programs can improve individual well-being and in investigating and implementing methods by which organizations can improve their adaptability. Steve enjoys being physically active, reading, and hanging out with family and friends.
